Radon is a radioactive cancer causing gas present in the environment.  Homes in our region of North Carolina are prone to have elevated levels of radon due to our geology.  Breathing radon gas increases the risk of Lung Cancer.  The U.S. Surgeon General warns that “indoor radon is the second leading cause of  Lung Cancer.”  And the EPA estimates that 21,000 annual deaths are radon related.
